Ankle Fractures - Fixation Surgery. Shows swelling, inflammation and fractures of the ankle bones including a displaced medial malleolar fracture and an osteochondral fracture of the talus in a weight-bearing portion of the joint. Surgical steps: 1. Removal of the talar bone fragment; 2. Fixation of the malleolar fracture using guide pin hardware; 3.Fixation of the joint using cannulated bone screws; and 4. Post-operative appearance of the joint.
