Acute Cervical Spine Injuries - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit features one lateral (side) skeletal view of the cervical spine. This image clearly illustrates various cervical spine injuries. The lateral view provides a clear view of the fractures at C5 including fractures of the body extending back into the posterior elements. The sagittal (side cut-away) window within the lateral view reveals displacement at the fracture sites, retropulsion of the fracture fragments, impingement on the cord and associated hemorrhage in the spinal canal.
